CERVICAL CANCER

We did 12 cases these days. One case was very difficult-a lady with stage 2A cervical cancer. She had a large mass coming out of her cervix oon the left which was constantly bleeding. At laparotomy, the mass was so large it was causing hydronephrosis on the left. With careful dissection we identified the ureters and followed them to the bladder. We were able to do a nice radical hysterectomy. Surprisingly, we did not find any enlarged lymph nodes. She will need radiation and perhaps chemo.
